Spring Skiing at Squaw Valley

April 17, 2018

With Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows staying open through Memorial Day, it is not to late to enjoy some of the best spring skiing.  Mother nature just delivered fresh snow and more snow and sun is in the forecast this week.

The legendary Squaw Valley USA, was the site of the Winter Olympic Games in 1960 and is a beautiful vacation destination at the end of the Sierra Valley.   Some say Squaw valley's coverage feels endless for those brave enough to try to conquer it.  The terrain is perfect for any skier or rider level with 170 trails and more than 15 bowls to explore.  You can access six peaks, 4,000 acres and almost 3,000 feet of vertical terrain.  The base was built with the ambiance in mind of a European-style mountain village.  There is dining, shopping and spa services all available at the village.

Check out the 28th Annual Cushing Crossing taking place on April 28th at the base of Squaw Valley.  The resort notes "The 28th Annual Cushing Crossing is the best event of the spring season.  The original pond skimming event that started a spring resort ritual.  Filled with big spills and laughable thrills this is one spring event that you don't want to miss."  This year, the event starts at 1pm with awards at 3pm at the KT Base Bar.  The Cushing Crossing is a family friendly event.
